Canada expands steel, aluminum tariff exemptions
Auto December 19, 2018, 0 Comment 7Canada will exclude some imported steel and aluminum from its latest tariffs and quotas following a request from British Columbia’s construction industry. The government also plans more relief for some companies that have contractual obligations. In Canada, automakers frequently buy U.S. steel under contract, import and distribute it to Canadian suppliers as well as their own plants, but it is not clear which companies would be affected.
